Andie Villegas (she/her) is a Filipina theatre maker. She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 2022 with a BFA in Theater Arts (Program Awardee) and a minor in Creative Writing (Playwriting). She then honed her playwriting skills further at the University of Galway, graduating with an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies with a specialization in Playwriting and Dramaturgy in 2024.

Throughout her theatrical journey, Andie has consistently been involved in the development of new work. She was a playwright and director for Ateneo Blue Repertory’s student-run Triple Threat Workshop (2019) and Find Your Light (2021) workshop series', which produces original student work. For both her undergraduate and masters theses, she wrote full length plays developed through devised ensemble theatre methods and adaptation, utilizing a variety of dramaturgical techniques for both pieces. While pursuing her masters degree she interned at the literary department of the world-renowned Druid Theatre company, and was one of eleven chosen participants in the Galway International Arts Festival SELECTED programme (2024). During SELECTED she had the opportunity to witness multiple world premieres of work and attend talks with various industry professionals, including with John Crumlish and Paul Fahy - the CEO and Artistic Director of the festival respectively.

Andie is passionate about creating work that speaks to the intersections of culture and language, and themes of home, identity, and faith. She hopes to encourage dialogue across cultures and beliefs, to achieve mutual understanding and empathy between people. She creates working environments that are safe and constructive, and encourages collaborators to make bold choices.
