“Frankenstein” is a scene study of Mary Shelley’s original text defined by two key dramaturgical decisions: gender-swapping the characters and combining English and Tagalog stage adaptations. The former seeks to provoke thought and discussion about the gender dynamics established in Mary Shelley’s original text. The latter asks questions about the way we use language; how we use it to present a version of ourselves versus how we use it to communicate some of our truest emotions.
